Repurpose, upcycle, rescue, reuse. Paint dip, chalked paint, spray paint, paint and patinate. There are so many terms used if your goal is to alter the artifact. I have friends who are fierce and fabulous with a paint brush, a can of paint, and the project they are prepared to tackle. I always stand back in awe of their repurposed masterpiece.

I, on the other hand either lack the confidence, or my love of history screams “don’t alter the artifact , you can’t go back!”

There is no right or wrong , it’s simply what you appreciate. After all, your home should be a reflection of you.

We began today with showcasing some of the brass in our inventory.

We are building on that with these creative ideas of giving old brass a new look .

If you decide to paint, make sure you clean the old brass first to remove dirt. Then, rub lightly with steel wool. Coat with primer, let dry then paint away!
