Nostalgic flair!

People are changing the way they look at outdoor furniture. Once thought of as temporary furniture, outdoor furniture has become an investment in our outdoor living space.

To achieve a peaceful, relaxing, and interesting outdoor sanctuary, try embracing quality things from the past. Metals, teak, and wicker materials from days gone by can give you that retro vibe without costing you a fortune.

We love old metal lawn chairs! They’re heavy and durable. Best of all, they can easily be restored for another couple decades of use .

With an approximate 7 hour time investment of washing, wire brushing, scraping , applying rust converter, rust-oleum primer, and an all surface enamel...you have just transformed your outdoor living space into a unique oasis.

This article would not be complete without a shout out to the infamous cast iron garden furniture. Yes, it too can be transformed (check out final few images). As lovely as it is, it’s maximum ornamentation has never appealed to my personal taste. We all know someone who has owned a piece of Rococo cast iron garden furniture.

Interestingly enough, it evolved during the Industrial Revolution in the early 1800’s. It is still produced today using the same historical process.

I hope this article and accompany images inspire you into creating, or adding to your perfect outdoor space. Enjoy!
